A vast expanse of desert grasslands encircles a massive mountain range in the southeastern region of Arizona as well as the northwestern area of Mexico. Stretching for forty miles in length and twenty miles in width, this range of dormant volcanoes earned the name "The Land of Standing-Up Rocks" from the Apaches.
