Military Family's Strength in Face of Incredible Challenges

Through Sickness and in Health

I thought deployments were hard, but having cancer has been the ultimate test for our marriage. He got back from a nine-month deployment to a newborn girl and a wife diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma Cancer.

A diagnosis forever alters your life.  It changes your perspective on beauty, health, and your future.  It takes away your sense of security and spontaneous moments.  The insight into illness is a heavy burden to carry.

People are complacent with the convenience of life, and I believe we should be living every moment of it to the fullest. We can't predict our future, and there are so many things in this world to appreciate. As warriors and survivors, we were given this outlook in life to be passionate about change.  We are our future generation and must define the fight, not let it define us.
