Teaching Children to Save the Bees

Many bees are disappearing at an alarming rate, and pesticides are weakening pollinator immune systems, leaving them more open to parasites and pathogens. Healthy food sources are disappearing.

As a part of our education at home, I decided to teach my children the importance of bees and why it's so important to say no to pesticides.

First, we started the conversation off with something sweet and fun through cupcakes and bee embellishments. Then we took our learning to another level by planting native wildflowers that would attract the bees. It took a few months for the flower to go into full bloom, but the bees are enjoying them, and my kids, a new generation, was able to see firsthand how to save the bees.
